12 weeks is here!
size of baby: 8 weeks: raspberry, 9 weeks: green olive, 10 weeks: prune, 11 weeks: lime, 12 weeks: plum (about 2 inches). We are now on the home stretch of the first trimester! Reflexes are developing this week which means if baby was to get to poked, baby would most likely poke back. I remember this fondly about our pregnancy with Harrison.
cravings: Nothing in particular---the other night I craved popcorn and french toast...those cravings were satisfied.
what I love: Harrison's excitement...His reaction to looking at the ultra sound photos, the way he is pulls up his shirt to show off the baby. Every time he sees a stroller or a photo of a baby he exclaims, "baby!"
what I am looking forward to most: First kicks...I was at my appointment last week and Baby Bee is almost completely made his/her way out from behind the pelvic bone. The doctor said I could start to feel kicks very soon.
worries: Worrying about anything and everything especially after our ER visit last week.
what's different this time around: Definitely a baby belly--showing about 4 weeks ahead of time than I did with Harrison. More tired with this pregnancy...I have a pretty great husband that make sures I have time to rest.
symptoms: Bought 4 new larger bras last week...that has to tell you something! I am moody too, I will be the first to admit that.
maternity clothes: Not quite yet...but I made three top investments over the past couple of weeks (thank you Target clearance). These three tops are my first ever maternity purchase. I am sure my growing belly will fit into them in the next few weeks.
sleep: I am sleeping through the night again most nights---it's a wonderful thing! Harrison is sleeping through the night too! This month was a huge sleep success, we are all getting a few more zzzzs.
belly: small painless braxton hicks (BH) contractions started this week. This is nothing to be alarmed about. The BH hicks I have are irregular and only have occurred a couple of times. The doctor said this is completely normal as long as I don't get strong contractions or pain with them. I looked back on the blog...BH contractions started with Harrison at around 15 weeks. My belly is growing...you can see for yourself at the end of this post (first bump photo to debut). I also started using cocoa butter again to help prevent stretch marks. I didn't get any with Harrison, so I might as well start the prevention as early as possible.
movement: none yet...but soon!
boy/girl: We did the IntelliGender test this past Sunday and the Chinese calender both point to a girl. My thoughts for the past several weeks have been a girl...but Baby Bee might surprise us in a couple of weeks and a be a little brother for Harrison.
milestones: Starting the second trimester next week. It's been a wild and bumpy road getting here, but worth every step. We living day by day and learning with Harrison's pregnancy, every single day counts.
comments from the general public: I struggled whether I should blog about our ER visit. I struggled with how much to say and trying to find the right words to say it. I am glad now I blogged about. Blogging is therapeutic...I am not sure I would know what to do without it, it helps me put into words life's events whether they are big/small or happy/sad. I want to extend a huge thank you to our friends/family and people we don't even know well who prayed for us and our continuing to pray for us. I received countless FB messages, blog comments, text messages, e-mails and phones calls with concerned people praying for Baby Bee, for me, for our family. I can't put together any words that can tell you how much this means to me, to us. I have these two words that can say a lot, "Thank You."
best moment of the month: The ultra sound at the ER...Seeing Baby Bee waving his/her hands, kicking, seeing and hearing that strong heart beat. This isn't only the best moment of the month, it's one of best moments in our lives. To be in such a terrifying situation and then have one of the best feelings at the same time puts me at a loss of words again. I am so grateful for this growing baby inside of me, our second child, Harrison's sibling.
Since I opted to do month photos for this pregnancy---I am deciding to wear the same white tee in all 6 bump updates. It's a maternity tee, a little big now, but I anticipate it won't be for long. I also borrowed a couple of photo ideas for pinterest I will incorporate along the road. I also plan to use the chalk board for every session (that is if it can hold up). I bought the chalk board off of Amazon, it had pretty good reviews, so based on that I ordered it, even though the price was a bit higher than I wanted to pay.... Well to sum it up, it's no good and I am on the search for another one, but for now this one will have to do.
